    Darlington County First Steps to School Readiness exists to help children birth through 5 years old prepare for school. Our school readiness strategies include: family strengthening through our Parents as Teachers program and our Motheread/Fatheread family literacy program; early education by expanding opportunities for 4-year-old kindergarten in public and private settings; and school transition by providing a summertime readiness program, Countdown to Kindergarten.

  • Girl Scouts - Pee Dee Council

    This program is open to all girls, ages 5 to 17, who accept the girl scout promise and laws. The teachings of home, church and school are reinforced by this versatile program inspiring girls to be resourceful citizens of the community.

  • Hartsville YMCA - After School Program

    This program is serving at-risk and needy elementary children during this year. It emphasizes improving self-esteem, social awareness and education through proper guidance and planned activities.

  • Boys and Girls Clubs of the Pee Dee

    Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Open after school and all day on non-school days, program areas include Character & Leadership Development, Education & Career Development, Health & Life Skills, The Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

  • Darlington County Council on Aging

    The only meal program in the county, provides one (1) nutritious meal per day, five (5) days a week to the elderly of Hartsville. Provides transportation needed and home service.
